Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022) Review

You are living your worst you.... you're capable of anything because you're so bad at everything.

A great superhero movie! A superhero movie that isn't creaking under the weight of dragging a decade long shared universe behind it, that is allowed to be funny without being quippy and tragic without blasting the orchestra over the Dolby Atmos.

The first act is a pressure cooker that would never make the cut into a Marvel movie, the fight scenes are excellent where CGI is a buttress rather than the entire edifice. The characters are more quantity over quality, having been chopped up through too many multiverses to really drill down into any one performance, but the acting behind them is top-notch.

A modern day The Matrix, that leans harder into comedy to hide that it's philosophy doesn't exactly escape the dorm room either. Stylish from start to finish, bound to be imitated in years to come.
